The United Nations African Regional Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in English (UN-ARCSSTEE) is pleased to announce the 7th Prof. E.E. Balogun National Symposium on Space Science which is scheduled to hold on the 24th July, 2023 at the Obasanjo Space Centre (NASRDA), Prof. (Senator) Robert Ajayi Borrofice Multipurpose Hall, Airport Road, Lugbe, Abuja.
ARCSSTE-E is one of the regional centres created following the endorsement of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) resolutions 37/90 10th December, 1982 and in its resolution 45/72 of 11th December 1990. The Centre has the mandate to develop indigenous capacity in all areas of Space Science and Technology and its applications at the postgraduate levels as well as to educate, create awareness, motivate and inspire school children at all levels to develop interest in Space.
This year, ARCSSTE-E celebrates its 25th Anniversary and its achievement cum impact on the African continent through indigenous capacity building. Consequently, this year’s symposium focuses on ARCSSTE-E’s role in building capacity, enlightenment drives, awareness creation through Space Science and Technology Education in Africa for sustainable national and regional development.
It also considers the impact of its postgraduate programmes through which over 700 participants from 19 English-speaking Africans have been trained in different thematic areas of Space Science and Technology.
The Centre welcomes participation from all walks of life in this edition of the Prof. E.E. Balogun National Symposium on Space Science which commemorates the Silver Jubilee anniversary of ARCSSTE-E. The Symposium will run in an hybrid format (onsite and online).(Senator
