Atmospheric & Allied Sciences

DR. O.R OLADOSU
Head
ATMOSPHERIC AND ALLIED SCIENCES

The Atmospheric and Allied Sciences Division is one of the four (4) Research & Development  Divisions newly created in the Centre. The aim of the division is to promote research which  focuses mainly on lower atmospheric conditions, weather analysis and predictability, climate and global change, circulation of the atmosphere relating to weather systems and their impact on the earth, air quality, and other atmospheric processes that affect us. The division presently has four (4) thematic operational  units,  namely:

Climate Change and Weather Systems

  • Meteorological Measurement and Instrumentation
  • Climate Variability
  • Climate Monitoring and Predictions
  • Atmospheric General Circulation
  • Numerical Weather Prediction

Atmospheric Chemistry/Environmental Research

  • Tropospheric Air Transport
  • Tropospheric Gases
  • Air Quality Research
  • Tropospheric Aerosols

Radiometeorology

  • Tropospheric Data Management
  • Tropospheric Profile Measurements
